2005 - The festival opened its doors and screens to video productions and digital technology, since audiovisual activities are becoming increasingly more democratic and popular.
The theme of the festival : Communication in a world with increasingly smaller boundaries.
There was also the presence in São Paulo of the creators of Kino Cabaret from Montreal. The Kino Cabaret inspired the Kino Nights of São Paulo.
In 2005, Kinoforum Shorts Review had its first experience: 22 students, under the coordination of Sergio Rizzo, Brazilian cinema critic, wrote texts about the national and latin shorts in the Festival.
